How to choose your route

First-time visitors often pair London with one heritage city and one landscape region. A balanced seven to ten day route might include London, Bath, the Cotswolds and Oxford or Cambridge. Travellers with more time can add York, Liverpool, Cornwall or the Lake District. Rail works well between many cities; rural villages and national parks may require careful bus planning or a car.
